You are invited to participate in a research study to explore the mental and emotional factors that influence how managers in high-hazard organizations respond to paradoxical situations. For the purposes of the study, managers are defined as those who carry out certain types of activities and not as those who hold certain titles or positions in the organization. A short questionnaire at the beginning of the study will determine if you fit the criteria of the population we are looking for.
Theory suggests that managers’ reaction to paradoxical situations is related to organizations’ response to change and stress. Although this study will likely not benefit you directly, it could provide information that might improve the response of high-hazard organizations to organizational challenges.
The study should take between 1 to 2 hours of your time, and you will be asked to complete three psychological assessments, one involving writing two stories. The confidentiality of study participants is strictly safeguarded. Participation is completely voluntary, and you can quit the study at any time.
